12 mile training run with Team in Training

12 miles. I have done this distance before. I seem to get less and less motivated to run. I don’t know what is wrong with me. We came in at around 7am. I knew this run wasn’t going to be so bad so it was ok for me. I knew we were going to pick up our packets and have a final discussion for the marathon.

It was a little cold this morning but not so much. I got there a little early but not so early. I joined in conversation with some folks but not many. My coach Ken talked to me and thought I had called him talking about an injury that I had but it wasn’t me that actually called him.

We went into our normal talks and had one of the guys that I have been running with all season do the mission statement. I had found out that he had cancer and survived along with his wife. Wow, that really hit me hard. I never knew.

The run started out fine. I was going ok with the C team and definitely felt tough within the first three miles. By mile 6, I had already slowed down because the C team was going close to an 8 minute pace which was a 10k pace for me. I knew my fitness has been going a little soft. I felt that I should be training more and doing what I could. I need to pick it up here for the last two week before I die at the end of the marathon.

I still am having issues with my callous. I tried running a little bit on my heels to take the initial impact off of my feet and it felt a little different. The only thing I noticed was my right leg feeling more sore in some way. I feel that lifting my leg is a little bit more tough.

The route would probably be described as a little weird. I never ran this route but I have done parts of it. I felt like the last 3 miles were crazy, just in the fact that I thought I was getting lost. The map itself was good and it made for a great run. It was a little shy of the 12 that I was supposed to do.

At the end of the run we had our last meeting really. We talked about the race and what we need to do. It was a nice rest for the day and it started to warm up then cool down but good nonetheless. Next week we have about an 8 mile run to finish off the running.

  • Hey, Great blog you have here. I wanted to let you all know that I think Twitter is going to be one of the stronger networks because of the fact that it is supported by so many industries. I also think when Twitter shows some of it’s new features, returning traffic will increase to show the real growth of the network.

Anyway, I created a website that offerers great resources for Twitter that are 100% free, so come and visit and don’t be a stranger.

    Keep up the great work!
