You need to eat a lot of high quality protein and carbs in order to efficiently build muscle mass from an intensive weight training program. Working out with really heavy weight will help build power and mass.

Hey Mark
Excellent website -- I do much of the same thing on my own blog (which I have just moved so its fairly brand new looking) and its nice to see people accurately tracking their progress. P90X and insanity are such great programs (the same ones I do), and your website here is just further proof to the world to how well they work.
Keep up the hard training, I will be checking back.

You can save 25% on P90X if you are a Beachbody coach and as a coach they have a really good deal called the showcase pack for $199 where you get P90X, Power 90, Slim in 6, Turbo Jam, Yoga Booty Ballet, Hip Hop Abs, some resistance bands, weighted gloves and all of the nutrition guides. Great deal. I would watch out for the bootlegged or pirated copies of P90X. Their quality might not be as good and you might not get the nutrition plan and work out guide. (you need these) Also when you buy from a coach you get a money back guarantee. As far as running goes I still ran maybe twice a week while doing P90X. Maybe about 4 miles each time. If you have the energy go for it. Just like doing 2 a days.

Hi Mark, I started following your youtube videos to check out p90x, and I have been trying to follow your workouts as a tryout before I bite the bullet and purchase it. A few questions, I also see from your other posts and such that you are also a runner. I am too, and I am wondering how you fit running into your p90x training, if you did. We seem about the same running ability, I currently run 5-6 miles a few times during the week and a longer 8 mi on the weekends. I also do other weight training during the week but want to step it up, that's why I'm looking at p90x. I have run 5ks, a couple half marathons, and I am still training for some other long distance runs this summer. I don't want to stop my running training, but I do want to start p90x, any comments or ideas?
Also, did you purchase p90x from the compaany? There are other enticing offers out there from other companies selling p90x for a lot less $, but I'm worried about wasting my money on garbage.
Thanks a lot!
