30 on 30: 23 mile training run

Submitted by on October 7, 2009 – 8:39 amNo Comment

This was a tough run for me that day. I started at around 12 just in time for me to make a 5 hour run if needed. I was supposed to go with some friends after to the famous Valley View Casino for their seafood buffet.

I decided to run to miramar lake and come back home. I was stuck with a time schedule and had to go as far as possible in the time allotted.

The first hour or so was good. I did the first lap around miramar lake and felt good. I got to the second lap and was feeling a little tired and my legs were getting sore. The way back home was just abot 6.4 miles long and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to get there in the time I would have liked. I was already walking and trying my best to keep a 12 minute pace and I knew it would be impossible.

I was averaging about a 13.5 min/mile pace and just kept pushing through. I walked a lot. I was fatigued. I finally got home and it took me about 5 hours. I was glad I was home. I was tired.
