Insanity Day 3 Cardio Power and Resistance

Submitted by on July 18, 2009 – 10:26 amOne Comment

Hey Everyone,
Day 3 of Insanity is tough. I though I would have gotten a little of a break here but this is no joke. The workout is about 40 minutes long. The warm up is similar to the Plometric Cardio Circuit with jog in place, then to power jack squat move, log jumps, 123-123, some butt kicks, high knees and vertical jumps . Then to a stretch workout. After the 6 minute stretch back into it with some power jumps. Belt kicks follow with some type of squat with alternating kick move. Hit the floor is next then onto a v pushup which works out the shoulders, its like the P90X move. Then repeat. We then moved to tricep dips to one legged tricep dips. The tricep ball pushup was a weird move but worked out the triceps effectively.

The last part started off with hurdle jumps. Those were tough. Then to globe jumps from the Fit Test. Moving pushups followed which were tough. Its similar to the p90x side to side push up. Then to floor sprints. Repeat this 3 times then to one last move which was called hop squats to 8 push ups. This was killer. I couldn’t keep up at the end. Then we finished with a final cool down and stretch.

Based on my Garmin watch. I was averaging 154 bpm and I maxed out at 178 bpm. I burned 517 calories. It was tough though. The combination of the heat. I feel like I need a better floor to work out on. The tile and wood that we have gets slippery from my sweat and slippage happens.
