Insanity Day 7 rest, progress and updates
Well today is the day of rest. But I am not going to rest. I feel like the rest will make me a feel like I have to do something. I am going to run 9 miles. Its gonna be tough though. I haven’t run in a while. I might have to take it easy and not push myself to go this far. But my legs need to feel what the 9 miles feels like. I am about 3 weeks away from the AFC half marathon. I think if I don’t do this training and I get to the half unprepared then I will be in for a bad surprise.
The Insanity has been crazy. Everytime I do the workout I am scared a little but anxious to see what my mind and body can do. Last night I was keeping up with the folks in the video. They are a tough crowd. I think my motivation along with theirs helps to make the video better. I know that these people tried the workout before taping the actual video. They must have. I think most of them were at a point where they were comfortable in doing the workout and have progressed into the program. I know week 2 will be better.
I know my diet might need some changes. I was looking at the nutrition plan and I was thinking that I might need to increase my calorie content. The Harris-Benedict equation is 66 + (6.23 x weight in lbs) + (12.7 x height in inches) – (6.8 x age). My came out to be 66 + 1115.17 + 889 – 197.2 = 1872.97. This is basic metabolic rate or BMR for the day if I don’t do anything to maintain my weight. Depending on your activity level you take your BMR and multiply by one of these:
If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9
I turn out to be the moderately to very active person. So my intake should be 2903 – 3230 calories per day. If you want to lose weight then I should cut down 3500 calories per week. That would mean 500 calories per day. So I should be eating 2403 – 2730 calories per day. The last 6 days I have been eating close to 2000 calories per day. I think I am eating too little. What do you guys think? Am I right?
My colon cleanse has been good. I am on day 20. I am on the pills for probiotics and the parasite defense. I believe the two help my overall colon health and also improve my health with them. The probiotics help with immunity and keeping the health bacteria in my body. While the parasite defense kills all the parasites and eggs that are bad in the body.
