I don’t know if you all have heard of P90x. I saw it in February 2007 . My brother was telling me about some videos for working out. I know he wanted to lose weight and it was something he brought up one day. I didn’t know anything about this workout till I was in bed ready to go to bed and saw an infomercial. I was really skeptical about workout videos and infomercials at the same time. So I saw the infomercial and was definitely surprised on the ideas that were presented there. P90x is a different kind of workout. They explained muscle confusion and how the body builds muscle. I was instantly interested for the fact that I was working out at the gym at least 3 times a week and also running. I wanted to get the body that they showed on the infomercial. But I only knew how to workout how people described to me or how I thought it should go. So as of now today, my coworkers and I have put a bet up. There is a $25 dollar buy in for 5 of us making the total to $125. We will be starting April 2 and finishing June 30th. This is the motivation I need because it will include people I see everyday and we will all have the experience together so we can talk through all of this. We can talk about what we hate and what we liked and can share what we learn here and maybe help others. So I invite anybody who reads this maybe to take a look at P90x and see if its something you can do.

  • Very new to this thing, still learning about this thing. This is a excellent thing that my friend recommended to me, I never getting involved with it but soon will be, thanks! :)

  • Sal Twiner says:

Can I take any other medicines while using this?

  • Also it is good to know that you need a great motivation for doing a good workout for abs routine.

  • Henry says:

Hey Mark, Great to see a non biased opinion of the work out. My wife and I started the workout today as a way to keep active together and not just sit on the couch while our daughter [ 16 months] sleeps. really hurting through day one and were only able to do maybe 60 plus % but hey better than nothing right? Good luck with your goals and thanks for the sheets.

    • mark says:

I am glad that I could help.

  • Steve says:

Good video, and very informative. Can you tell me how much rest, if any at all, is between each set and/or exercise (according to the actual DVD’s)? 10 sec, 30 sec? Is there any rest at all. Do you do a set of push ups, then immediately go to a back exercise? Is this consistent between all workouts?

    • mark says:

Most of the rest between the sets are 30 seconds. Yes all the workouts are continuous but there are breaks at certain times. Let me know if you need the real dvds.

      • Steve says:

Thanks for the info. Yes, I’d love the DVD’s. How do we do that? Thanks so much for the offer.

        • mark says:

if you need the dvds you can purchase them through me. You can get a discount if you sign up to teambeachbody. if you need details i can send you some info.

      • Steve says:

Does the nutrition info list how much fat/protein/carbs you should ingest each day? Love your blog and the vids at Youtube. Keep it up, looks like its working for you.
        Thanks for all the help.

  • I beleive everyone who wants or wants to lose weight genuinely need to recognize that these kind of celebrity diets would be a waste of your time. These people really need to realise that in weight loss you must eat little and frequently. Some good advice

    • mark says:

I agree with you. I think the key to good weight loss are good eating habits and exercise.

  • Canadian Girl says:

Just looking into the P90X..have not had alot of time to read up on it but thought you’d might be able to answer a question..I’m a shift worker 35 day rotation with a week of nights..although I try and keep up my workouts on nightshift it is often a challenge an I can’t do 100% will that be an issue? I have heard the workouts are an hour+…between working, two kids, sports and 3 different shifts I wonder if this might be a little more than I can handle. I currently work out cardio/weights 40-60min a day but sometimes really have to push myself.

    • mark says:

it depends. p90x is a good weight loss plan. i think you can still not be able to do the workouts everyday but your changes won’t be as significant. you should look at another workout plan like 10 minute trainer or even insanity. it depends on your goal of either weight loss and/or muscle gain.

  • Av says:

hey how many reps for each exercise?

    • mark says:

it depends on the weight. for muscle gain it is 8-10 reps and to lose weight it is 12-15.

  • naz says:

can you still gain muscle mass with this program? or should i stick with bulking up first before starting this program to tone out?

    • naz says:

btw how heavy are your bowflex weights?

      • mark says:

They start at 5lbs and go up to 52.5 lbs.

    • mark says:

It depends. People have been able to bulk up and still be toned. I think it is always harder to tone up than to bulk up.

  • Carole says:

Thanks so much for the 4X youtube videos. I’m a single mom, 44, wanting to get my fittest by 45. I’m doing great, and feeling great, but needed an extra boost to my own personal goal fitness line. I’m heading for lean and cut. I can’t afford P90X, but loved the infomercials. I can follow your videos and do a great workout after I write down everything I need to do, then just do it! :) Burnin’! Awesome! I appreciate what you are doing, which is helping me achieve my goals the best way possibl. I thank you and so does my outstanding health! Your own personal results are truly great!

    • mark says:

If you ever get to the point that you can afford the dvds let me know.

  • I agree with with your conclusion. I am going to do some research and post it here for clarity. Stay tuned and I’ll be back with the info. I made sure to bookmark the site so I’ll be able to find my way back. LOL Also, if any of you women need <a href="http://sites.google.com/site/bestabexercisesforwomen" ab workout for women don’t hesitate to begin immediately.

  • Love the info on fat loss, thanks keep up the good work! Bookmarked!

  • hey man great post, if you get more than 500 hits per day, maybe we can link to each other or something, drop me an email.

    • mark says:

i am not sure if I get that many hits per day. I think it is somewhere below 200.

  • The blog looks good. Maybe improving the website design will make it look more professional and earn you more followers. Keep up the good work!

  • teamcanada says:

    Hey Mark,
First, this is an awesome blog, thanks. Second, I havnt started my cycle yet, I plan on it April 1st. But I just wanted to know, Im like 210, big beer gut, will lose weight and get a flat stomach, I know its not easy to get a 6 pack, but will I loose the gut? and turkey neck?

    • mark says:

It sounds like you got some goals of yours going. I think you have to put in a plan and set some goals. You should be able to lose the gut, you just have to get into the zone about eating and exercising. Let me know if you need some tips.

  • My goal right now is to get ripped six pack abs and it’s not easy. Does anyone here have some recommendations as far as a good six pack abs diet? I’ve heard that oatmeal, egg whites of course, salmon, blueberries and broccoli are all important to include in your diet…are there any other foods I should include to build muscle and get ripped abs?

  • This is actually nice post. I’ll certainly come back more often. You may as well test this website about Healthy Dieting.

  • Bertie says:

Awesome post, I just came across it and I’m already a fan. I only just lost thirty pounds in thirty days, and I am exciteed to let somebody in on my weight loss accomplishment with as many people as possible. If I can lose fat then any one can. No matter what you do, by no means give up and you WILL attain all your weight loss targets!

  • There is a lasting problem with my love handles. No idea what to do about them. The abs I got under control – thanks to tight abs through training – more or less, but boy do I suck at getting the flabbies from my sides. Any ideas anyone?

  • The six packs abs diet strategy introduces wholesome consuming, stress reduction and pounds control. If you can commit your self into this kind of diet plan plan, then there is no way for you not to shed weight. This diet also serves being a guide to developing a healthy way of life and is great for individuals who are getting a difficult time adopting a wholesome eating habit.

  • Huge difference, keep up the great work! P90X is a great program!

  • nathalie says:

I just started the p90X and was wondering about the diet, there are some things i am not crazy about can we just eat different things that we like

    • mark says:

you really want to stay as close to the diet as possible to get the results. if you need detailed info let me know.

  • nathalie says:

Am i able to do the cardio instead of yoga

    • mark says:

i think the yoga is one of the most important parts of p90x. i think you should do some if not all.

  • nathalie says:

if i eat for example on a daily basis, oatmeal with a scoop of protein for breakfast, 5 egg whites for a snack, tuna sandwich with only one bread and raw veggies for lunch, a yogurt and fruit for snack, chicken and salad for supper and a protein shake in the evening as a snack, i am 5 foot 4 and weigh about 130 lbs, is this a good meal plan

    • nathalie says:

is this a good meal plan

  • p90x says:

Classic p90x workout dvd provide you the best system training method.

  • Jason says:

I’m a recent smoker, who is 34 and far out of shape and underweight. I’ve just ordered the dvd’s and was wondering as far as bulking up would protein powder or L-glutimen be recommended?

    • mark says:

are you in a state of losing or gaining? it depends on your goals and p90x can help with them. the protein and the glutamine will help definitely. I suggest protein for all workouts whether it is to lose weight or gain mass.

  • Jason says:

I was about 180 solid, and 5 ft 11 about 10 yrs ago. Started smoking and working as a waiter, needless to say over about 2 yrs I dropped to about 140 and that is where I am currently at for the past 8 yrs. I am assembling all the products I will need for this, are there any other suppliments that you recommend? I have Whey Protein, L glutimen and Phytoberry. My goal is an increase in weight and strength. I don’t have much fat on me. Any help would be appreciated. I will be starting day one in about a week or so. tnx

  • Angie says:

hi there… what’s all involved in the meal plan as far as “special” things, ie. protien shakes, whey etc. And does it tell yo the exact ones to get or do they have thier own brand? If so, how much extra are these? Also, how much do you charge for the dvd’s and other components? Thanks!

  • Just a quick hello and also to thank you for discussing your ideas on this page. I wound up inside your weblog right after researching physical fitness connected issues on Yahoo… guess I lost track of what I had been performing! Anyway I’ll be back once once a lot more within the lengthy run to verify out your blogposts down the road. Thanks!
